Despite seemingly finalising their plans for Raw’s No Mercy PPV, WWE officials discussed adding a huge tag team match to the card that would’ve changed the face of the entire card.
The match discussed was a WWE Tag Team Championship match with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defending against Roman Reigns and John Cena.
The WWE had Roman Reigns and John Cena defeat The Miz and Samoa Joe in a tag match on Raw, and kept the door open to do the tag match at No Mercy. The WWE also cancelled a segment where John Cena was set to say he was on Raw to call out a certain “Samoan,” referring to Roman Reigns, but instead, he would have been confronted by Samoa Joe. However, the WWE decided not to change the segment and go with a face to face with Roman and Cena instead of holding it off.
