Bobby Roode made his SmackDown debut last Tuesday, defeating Aidan English. On the same show, Dolph Ziggler returned to WWE television via a backstage interview.
Our sources have indicated to us that Ziggler looks set to fulfil the same role he did for Nakamura, that being, looking up at the lights to establish SmackDown’s new babyface star.
The original plan was for Ziggler to remain off TV and for Rusev to face Roode. Rusev was set to win a SummerSlam rematch against Randy Orton and move onto putting over Bobby Roode, however, as we reported previously, Rusev is less than happy with how he is being used by the company, which could be a key reason behind Ziggler returning to TV.
