We can exclusively confirm that Shane McMahon avoided any serious injuries, due to the fact the WWE inserted a 3 inch thick layer of foam on the top of their announce table, using high quality Montana spray paint to colour match the foam surface to the regular announce tables. Although the foam did not make the bump completely safe or any less impressive, it did significantly reduce the risk of any potentially serious injuries.
The UK’s Sun newspaper falsely reported that Shane McMahon suffered multiple serious injuries as result of his Hell in the Cell bump. The WWE surprisingly gave an accurate report on Shane’s injuries, reporting there were no broken bones. It is certainly odd to see a national newspaper incorrectly sensationalising Shane’s injuries, whilst a pro wrestling company, with wrestling being synonymous for sensationalism, gave an accurate assessment of Shane’s condition.
