As pointed out on The Dirty Sheets Podcast’s Survivor Series review, the WWE seemingly don’t know what words mean.
When I was growing up, people used to come down to ringside area and Vince McMahon used to claim they were getting a “Birdseye view.” Even at 10 years old, I knew this was wrong, as we had been taught about Birdseye views in art class, when we had to draw a scene from a Birdseye view.
This continued throughout my life. The WWE would call 3 men surviving a Survivor Series match, “sole” survivors. Somehow the definition of the word “sole” has never resonated with this company, as they continue to refer to multiple survivors as sole survivors, something that continued last Sunday at Survivor Series.
Let’s not overlook the fact we will soon be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Raw. Well actually, that’s not a fact at all, as it will actually be the 24th anniversary of Raw. Somehow the WWE don’t know the difference between a birthday and an anniversary. This was heavily pointed out when WrestleMania 25 was promoted as the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania, with WrestleMania 26 actually being the the 25th anniversary, but somehow the ignorant and somewhat idiotic WWE learnt nothing from the whole debacle.
There are many other examples, but I think I have sufficiently made my point. Welcome to world of Vince McMahon, where even words only mean what he wants them to mean.
