Taker Returns To MSG and House Show Results

The Undertaker made his return to MSG tonight after 8 years, teaming with Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman in a winning effort against Kevin Owens, Elias, and Baron Corbin. Most of the match featured Roman taking a beating from Owens with Undertaker getting the hot tag. All the faces hit their finishers and Taker defeated Owens via pin fall with a tombstone pile driver to an enormous pop.

The semi main event featured Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax with Alexa Bliss and Mickie James as co-special referees. Rousey was announced as “the newest member of the UFC hall of fame and baddest woman on the planet.” James and Bliss turned on both Jax and Rousey during the match. After several slow counts the refs attacked the competitors. Rousey and Jax then beat the refs down and threw them out of the ring. Rousey then hit Jax with a cross body and a third official raced from the back to make the count one second too late. Rousey then sunk in the arm bar and defeated Jax via submission.

Dolph Ziggler also retained his intercontinental championship in a triple threat match against Finn Balor and Seth Rollins. Ziggler won with a zigzag off interference from Drew McIntyre.

Cedric Alexander retained his cruiser weight title against Buddy Murphy.

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt retained their tag team titles against the B Team and Titus World Wide. Taker by far had the biggest reaction of the night and although his part in the match was limited he looked healthy hitting the big boot, leg drop, choke slam, and Tombstone. After the match Reigns and Taker had a stare down and shook hands to a chorus of boos. Reigns remains as unpopular as ever, and was eviscerated by the New York crowd.
