Bad News for TLC

We previously addressed how Raw was putting on the Main Event at the end of the second hour to coincide with half-time in the NFL Monday Night Football game.

The WWE will adopt the same strategy this Sunday for their TLC PPV, with the WWE likely to use the intrigue of Sister Abigail to entice the audience to check in on the TLC PPV during half-time of the Sunday Night Football game between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons. Conversely, they may opt to go with Asuka’s debut.

Unfortunately for the company, Patriots vs Falcons is a rematch of last year’s SuperBowl. Ratings are already hugely effected when up against the New England Patriots in general, however, the company are likely to suffer significantly more with the Atlanta Falcons being the opposition.

This is probably why the WWE did not pull the trigger with Sasha Banks vs Asuka and stayed the path with Asuka vs Emma, making this card pretty much a one match show, as the company knew that it would be trounced by the Patriots and Falcons match-up.

In addition to that, we can report that the event is far from sold out, with over 3,000 tickets still available.
